The recent news stories about the contentious revamping of textbooks by the Texas State Board of Education were either good or bad, depending on your political point of view. The actions by the Texas board is important to other states because of the 4.7 million students in the Lone Star State. Once they make the decisions of what is in and what is out, and the books go to print, it is far cheaper for other states to simply adopt the Texas schoolbooks than to have a separate and custom edition for each state. It is simply a matter of economics.
And much of the Texas text books were crammed with politically correct and very liberal views that have crept into the education system over the years the body was controlled by Democrats.
Some of the more contentious moments concerned allowing students to question the UN’s actions that undermine US sovereignty and examining court rulings on separation of church and state in light of the constitution. Liberals simply want the students to accept their version of events.

Former board chairman Don McLeroy, one of the board’s most outspoken conservatives, said the Texas history curriculum has been unfairly skewed to the left after years of Democrats controlling the board and he just wants to bring it back into balance.
“I’m proud to have my name on this document,” Republican board member Barbara Cargill said shortly before the vote.
Another Republican board member, David Bradley, said the curriculum revision process has always been political — but this time, the ruling faction had changed since the last time social studies
standards were adopted.
“We took our licks, we got outvoted,” he said referring to the debate from 10 years earlier. “Now it’s 10-5 in the other direction … we’re an elected body, this is a political process. Outside that, go find yourself a benevolent dictator.”
So, with the whole Anthropogenic (Man-caused) Global Warming “science” now exposed as a “trick” according to the exposed emails from Phil Jones of the Climate Research Unit of East Anglia University in the UK. And the University of Virginia has decided to stonewall Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli as he attempts to investigate Michale Mann’s use of State grant money in what may turn out to be the fraud of the century. One must wonder what the University is hiding.
It is high time we remove this “junk” science being taught as absolute truth to our children. Or at the very least, provide the information about the efforts to manipulate data and refusals to provide the data on which these conclusions were based.
The fact that we are in the midst of a lengthy cooling period, perhaps a new ice age, should be taught as well.
The evidence points to an earthly warming and cooling cycle that has gone on for thousands of years.
It is time we look closely at the bogus information being taught in schools all under the banner of Liberalism. As the country moves back to the right, and away from the failed policies of the Obama Administration, the false information that has crept into the Texas schoolbooks must be purged all around the country.
